Father Jim Grau explains WHY St John Vianney is offering a Family Catechesis Program

The home-based family catechism program is a great opportunity to share your faith with your children at your own pace and on your own schedule.

We offer instruction for all children in Kindergarten – 8th Grade.

NEW! Kindergarten Program – Introduce your child to basic Catholic teaching about God, how we worship and how we pray.

How does our program work?

  • Parents pick up all materials at Registration
  • Your family can begin as soon as you register!
  • There will be enrichment programs and activities throughout the year for your family to participate in at our parish
  • Get involved in the life of our parish by attending Mass, joining a ministry and participating in parish events

Kindergarten through Grade 6 (no computer needed)

Each child receives a grade-specific workbook and a syllabus.  Parents (and grandparents too!) work with your child to focus on Bible stories and vocabulary words.  Parents turn in completed Chapter Reviews (perforated pages) with the child’s name on them to Kristine in the Church Office by April 11, 2022 or earlier.

Grades 7 and 8 (Middle School)

Each child receives a workbook, instructions to watch videos online, and a Question Packet.  Parents (and grandparents too!) work with your child.  Parents turn in the completed Question Packet with the child’s name on it to Kristine in the Church Office by April 11, 2022 or earlier.

Shine Program (Special Needs)

For those children who are unable to learn in a traditional structured classroom and have received a special needs diagnosis, we offer an “adaptive curriculum” for Religious Education as well as sacramental prep.  Please email Michelle Kustarz, Assistant Director of Religious Education, at mkustarz@catholicweb.com for more information.
