GENTLY USED COAT DRIVE TO HELP HOMELESS VETERANS

Sadly, there are thousands of U.S. Veterans who return to the Detroit area from protecting our Country only to find themselves homeless.  The weather will turn shortly and these Veterans are will be out on the streets without coats.

The SJV Christian Service group has committed to collecting “gently used” coats for men and woman over Veterans Day weekend, November 6 – 7, 2021.  There are currently hundreds of homeless Vets located in 9 shelters that will be the first to receive the coats.  The coats will be distributed to centers in the Detroit and surrounding areas where the homeless Vets go for treatment and/or shelter.

If you check your closets and find clean and  “gently used” men’s and women’s coats that you are no longer wearing and would like to donate to those who have protected us and our Country, please drop the coats off in the bins in the hallway when entering the church the weekend of November 6-7, 2021.
