An important part of the Archdiocesan Restructuring is for parishioners to give feedback regarding the 3 proposed models for their parish. St. John Vianney Parish is in Planning Area 13.
A Parish Workbook has been created for each parish. Data and statistics regarding our planning area begin on page 20 of the workbook, which you may find helpful to review in understanding the proposed models. The parish finance council also prepared a note which explains some of the financial data for the parish.
Starting May 27th the information on our planning area will be available for parishioner comment. You have until July 31st, 2026 to offer your feedback. These are the essential questions we are being asked about each of the 3 models proposed for our planning area:
- What makes sense and would work? Why? (i.e., What do you think is heading in the right direction in this proposal? What do you like about this?)
- What does not make sense and would not work? Why? (i.e., What do you think is heading in the wrong direction in this proposal? Why might these proposed pastorates not be a good fit for reaching others?)
As the Archbishop explains in the video provided on the website below, it is important for parishioners to be candid about their opinions and to provide context about our planning area that may not be captured by the usual data the Archdiocese has on hand.
While being straightforward, it is equally important to be professional and gracious about the matter. Staying on topic – and making sure to give specific reasons why a given model makes sense or does not make sense – is what will be most helpful to ensure good, well-deliberated decisions are made about your parish.
