Walking with Moms in Need is a nationwide initiative that equips Catholic parishes and parishioners to assist, accompany and bring hope to mothers in need. Parenting women or women facing challenging pregnancies should see the Church as a place where they can find help. In coordination with the Archdiocese of Detroit and Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan the Walking with Moms in Need ministry seeks to make each parish in the Archdiocese a place where moms and their babies are welcomed and supported and where the dignity of every human life is upheld and valued.

The SJV Walking With Moms In Need Ministry meetings are every third Tuesday at 7:00pm in meeting room A/B.

Through this ministry we will:

·         Increase the parish outreach and support of local pregnancy centers and mothers facing difficult or unexpected pregnancies.

·         Raise awareness of existing resources for pregnant and parenting moms in need and their families.

·         Spiritually support mothers in need.

·         Promote a Culture of Life.

As Pope Francis has reminded us, our parishes are called to be “islands of mercy in the midst of a sea of
indifference.” Everyone in a given parish community should know where to refer a pregnant woman in
need. Walking with Moms in Need hopes to help parishes do just that.
